Congratulations to our students for their stellar effort at track meet and high jump elimination last week.  Our grade 6 band students put on tremendous concerts last week – well done!

This week is a grade 5 week as our 5s choose band instruments on Wednesday and make the trip to Beaver Creek with Mr. Wihak on Thursday.

Beaver Creek

  • trip happens during school hours
  • dress for the weather
  • bring any accessories that will help (example:  hat, sunglasses, raincoat, bug spray, sunscreen, etc.)
  • pack as litterless a lunch as possible
  • pack your water bottle

Curriculum Updates

  • science – flight unit (taught by Ms B.) – 4 forces of flight, scientific laws of flight, history of flight
  • math – grade 6 rate/ratio/scale; grade 5 division

Spelling

Happily, all students caught up with spelling last week!  🙂

This week we start fresh on Tuesday with assignments and tests on Thursday.  Grade 5s will do the assignment but because of Beaver Creek will have no spelling test on Thursday.

Here’s a look at week 36 . . .

Monday

  • phys. ed. a.m.
  • band a.m.
  • library p.m. (last exchange for this school year – all books due back June 15)

Tuesday

  • new spelling lesson work day

Wednesday

  • grade 5 band instrument selection day
  • no grade 6 band today
  • phys. ed. a.m.

Thursday

  • book and bagel 7:45 – 8:30 a.m.
  • grade 5 Beaver Creek trip
  • spelling assignments due; buff and purple spelling tests

Friday

  • phys. ed. a.m.
  • Family Pizza lunch
